October NEWSLETTER

Hello to all members and supporters. This newsletter will update you on what has been happening and plans for the future.

MEET OUR NEW SECRETARY

We are delighted to have our new Club Secretary, Libby Harding, join us.

Libby is a local who has had a career in local government administration, particularly town planning. including, in recent years, providing contract planning services to smaller councils across the north west.

Libby has already brought some new ideas, particularly in relation to members, supporters and sponsor engagement.

You will have received a letter with your membership card, benefits of being a member and race dates.

Memberships are just $44, and guest members are just $22, for which there is free admission to our race days, free race book, discounted bar prices, eats throughout the day, and you are close to the parade ring and Brian Baldwin and Greg Kachel’s race previews.

Please encourage others to join by contacting Libby on 0403 430 004 or https://www.inverelljockeyclub.com/membership

FROM THE STABLES

The 24-25 season ended on the 31st of July.

Our trainers fared as follows (NSW racing only) – Ridge Wilson 18 winners, 133 starters, $346,000 prizemoney; Todd Payne 11 winners, 102 starters, $556,000 prizemoney; Jo Methven5 winners, 15 starters, $61,700 prizemoney; Wayne Oakenfull 4 winners, 25 starters, $57,550 prizemoney; Scott Cover 2 winners, 11 starters, $32,500 prizemoney; Dean Smith 2 winners, 3 starters $29,450 prizemoney; Brodie Fenton 1 winner, 26 starters, $25,325 prizemoney; Danni Schreck 1 winner, 17 starters, $18,500 prizemoney.

Undoubtedly, the highlight of the racing year was LISZTOMANIA winning a Highway and then the closest of seconds in the Country Championship.

His form has meant he has secured a slot in the $2 million Kosciuszko, selected by Narrabri’s Blake Palmer.

That process in itself is quite amusing – have a look at the story on the Racing NSW website Blake Wanted A Meat Tray, He Won A Kosciuszko Slot Instead.

HOLY TRINITY RACE DAY

We are looking to Saturday October 18 for a great family day.

The Holy Trinity Mega raffle offers $7,000 first prize plus a bonus $500 if the winner is present at the draw. There are 3 other prizes, and show your raffle ticket at the gate to gain free entry to the race day.

Keep an eye on our website for further details.

COURSE IMPROVEMENTS

We have a new fence in front of the grandstand, and the narrow chute through which placegetters came off the track has been removed. In line with other tracks, horses will enter and leave the track through the one gate. Thank you to Inverell Ford for sponsoring the new entrance gates to the car park.

FUNCTIONS

Our facilities are available for functions ranging from birthday parties to Christmas parties and reunions in a very safe, secure location with plenty of parking.

Talk to Libby on 0403 430 004 or info@inverelljockeyclub.com about your requirements.
